More good news for the purists,
the BMW M3 sDrive will be available with either a manual gearbox or an automatic. The M3 xDrive won’t come with a manual and will be automatic only, which is something we suspected, but if you spec your M3 with just two driven wheels, you can get three pedals.
New details come to life this week, though.
As we reported before as well, the new S58 engine will come with different power outputs. The entry-level G80 M3 with sDrive and manual is referenced internally at BMW M as the “Pure” model and
will deliver around 445 horsepower.
Next is the “regular” M3 with an M xDrive system and a power output of 475 horsepower. The top of the chain M3 model – initially at launch time – will be
the G80 M3 Competition with a performance level rated at 500 hp.
Pure and base will have 18 inch front and 19 inch rear wheels while the G80 M3 Competition will have 19 inch and 20 inch as standard. Standard equipment for all models will include an M Differential, Adaptive Suspension, M Seats and Live dashboard.
